Dr Who cut short

Filming of the new series of Doctor Who has been hit by a shortage of dwarf actors.

Producers needed them to play little blue aliens in the new BBC sci-fi drama, reports the Mirror.

But most midget actors have already been snapped up for the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie or to play Gringotts Bank staff in the new Harry Potter film.

Executive producer Russell T Davies said: "It's very difficult to employ persons of restricted growth when, as our producer Phil Collinson says, `Bloody Gringotts and the Chocolate Factory are filming at the same time'."

Peter Burroughs, whose Willow Personal Management is one of just two UK agencies for dwarf actors, admitted he had been unable to supply Dr Who with a 3ft 8in star.

He said: "That was very difficult to find, especially with the other productions going on."

The new series, with Christopher Eccleston as Dr Who and Billie Piper as his sidekick, is due to start in March.

I wonder if I'm short enough to apply ?

Commitment

Yesterday was a very important day for me and Andy. During the church's Coventent service, we and 6 other people were confirm to the membership of the church.

Also, I was baptised, the full immersion. I had the option to do just a "sprinkle" or the full works. After reading some articles at http://www.bebaptized.org/. I decided that the full works is right for me.

I was quite calm about the whole thing until Saturday afternoon. I hardly slept Saturday night. The baby was full of adrenaline and was moving about like mad all night and all Sunday!
At the service Ivor and myself gave a short testimony. By the time, it was my turn to go to the stage, I was only a little bit nervous. ( I calmed down quite a bit after we sang the first hymn )

After the service, I spoke to lots of people, including lots of friends who came to support me. (Thanks) I was touched that people enjoyed the testimony and baptism. I was surprised that some people have never seen a full baptism before!

Last night, Andy and I had a long discussion about the whole thing. We talked about if we feel any different.
The conclusion I've come to is that it's like marriage. The actual act of the wedding did not switch me into Mrs Brown mode. The commitment had already been made when I agreed to marry him and also this commitment is on going. It also grows with time.

Reality TV, the religious way

On the day that yet another reality tv show is about to start (Celebrity Big Brother)....

Reality TV, the religious way
In the world of bug-eating, bungee-jumping reality television, here's a twist: Christian missionaries living a travelogue life while viewers watch their aches, pains and trials trying to spread the Gospel.
Travel the Road is now in its third season, reaching 250,000 to 300,000 U.S. households per show on cable's Trinity Broadcasting Network, which bills itself as the world's largest Christian network, and uncounted others in about 100 other countries, according to executive producer Michael Scott.

Baba update

Back to work today :~(

I had a checkup with the midwife today. Everything is fine. Found out that Baba is lying either front to back or vice versa, so the movements I can feel are either its arms or legs.

New Year, new blog

I thought I'll change my blogging to use blogger.com, as it might make it easier for me to update.
