Commitment

Yesterday was a very important day for me and Andy. During the church's Coventent service, we and 6 other people were confirm to the membership of the church.

Also, I was baptised, the full immersion. I had the option to do just a "sprinkle" or the full works. After reading some articles at http://www.bebaptized.org/. I decided that the full works is right for me.

I was quite calm about the whole thing until Saturday afternoon. I hardly slept Saturday night. The baby was full of adrenaline and was moving about like mad all night and all Sunday!
At the service Ivor and myself gave a short testimony. By the time, it was my turn to go to the stage, I was only a little bit nervous. ( I calmed down quite a bit after we sang the first hymn )

After the service, I spoke to lots of people, including lots of friends who came to support me. (Thanks) I was touched that people enjoyed the testimony and baptism. I was surprised that some people have never seen a full baptism before!

Last night, Andy and I had a long discussion about the whole thing. We talked about if we feel any different.
The conclusion I've come to is that it's like marriage. The actual act of the wedding did not switch me into Mrs Brown mode. The commitment had already been made when I agreed to marry him and also this commitment is on going. It also grows with time.
